B.Sc. CHEMISTRY
PO – Programme Outcomes:
Upon completion of B.Sc. Degree Programme, the students will be able to
  • Gain sound theoretical and practical knowledge in fundamental aspects of all Disciplines of Chemistry.
  • Acquire basic knowledge in the specialized areas like Polymer Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Nano chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry etc.
  • Understand the basics and gain knowledge on laboratory reagents and their uses in estimation and analysis.
  • Get motivation and interest to continue higher studies in chemistry.
  • Attain skills for getting employment in educational institutions and various Chemical industries.

 

M.Sc. CHEMISTRY
PO – Programme Outcomes:
Upon completion of M.Sc. Degree Programme, the students will be able to
  • Gain complete knowledge in fundamental aspects of all branches of chemistry.
  • Understand, solve and demonstrate the major concepts in all disciplines of chemistry clearly.
  • Obtain the scientific knowledge to design, carry out, record and analyse the results of all chemical experiments.
  • Acquire sound knowledge about the laboratory practices and safety.
  • Procure research oriented skills and innovative scientific and teaching skills for getting employment in reputed institutions and research institutes.

 

B.Sc. CHEMISTRY
PSO – Programme Specific Outcomes:
Upon completion of B.Sc. Degree Programme, the students will be able to
PSO1: Understand the basic concepts of atomic structure, thermodynamics, Electrochemistry and Photochemistry.
PSO2: Acquire knowledge on the advanced concepts and rate equations in Chemical kinetics.
PSO3: Understand the different types and mechanisms of organic reactions.
PSO4: Gain knowledge on the basic concepts of chromatographic techniques, Organic synthesis and extraction techniques.
PSO5: Obtain knowledge on the concept of asymmetric synthesis and green Chemistry.
PSO6:  Comprehend the types of pollutants and their effect on environment and on Human health.
PSO7: Familiarize with the bonding concepts and isomerism in co-ordination compounds.
PSO8: Procure knowledge on the handling of chemicals, errors in chemical Analysis and to plan experimental projects.

 

M.Sc. CHEMISTRY
PSO – Programme Specific Outcomes:Upon completion of M.Sc. Degree Programme, the students will be able to
PSO1: Understand the concepts of mechanisms of organic reaction, stereochemistry, and aromaticity.
PSO2: Acquire skills in synthesis, separation, quantitative and qualitative analysis of organic compounds by laboratory and instrumental techniques.
PSO3: Gain sound knowledge in the concepts of photochemistry, pericyclic  reactions and spectroscopic studies of organic compounds.
PSO4: Procure knowledge in the basic and advanced concepts of structure and bonding of inorganic elements and compounds, solid state structure, Chemical forces and inorganic polymeric compounds.
PSO5: Familiar with the concepts of bonding, isomerism, reaction mechanism and electronic spectra of coordination compounds.
PSO6: Gain knowledge in the concepts of organometallic compounds, pi-acceptor complexes, inorganic photochemical reactions and nuclear reactions.
PSO7: Obtain sound knowledge in the concepts of analytical techniques, Environmental and green chemistry, polymer chemistry, medicinal chemistry and drug design, Nano science and technology and natural products.
PSO8: Attain skills to carry out experiments related to kinetics, distribution law, phase diagrams, conductometry,  potentiometry and to do project in various fields of Chemistry.
