At postgraduate level, the College offers multiple specializations in MA, M.Com, M.Sc., and PG Diploma. The minimum eligibility criterion to seek admission in these courses is to possess a graduate degree in concerned subjects from any recognized Institution/ University.
- Admission in MA, M. Com., M.Sc., PGDCA requires a bachelor’s degree in relevant subjects from any recognized University/ Institution.
- For M.Sc. Mathematics, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Geography and Computer Science the applicants must have a graduate degree in relevant subjects.
- Selection criterion for these PG courses are direct and based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and Entrance Test conducted by concerned Departments.

Key Points
- Applicants with BCA/ B.Sc. (IT/ CS/ CA) degrees are eligible for Lateral entry in MCA second year.
- Relaxation and reservations for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates are granted in accordance with the guidelines of the State Government and Govt. of India.
- The entrance exam conducted by the Concerned Department is of 90 minutes with 60 multiple-choice questions around the syllabus of the qualifying examination.

M.V. Muthiah Government Arts College for Women provides M.Phil in 7 disciplines and Doctoral degree in 2 different fields of specializations. Aspirants seeking admission in these courses must have secured a master’s degree in relevant subjects with minimum 55% marks from any recognized university.
Selection of eligible applicants is based strictly on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination, an entrance exam conducted by concerned departments, followed by an interview. For M.Phil,/Ph.D. there is written entrance examination conducted by University. Applicants have to appear for personal interview.

- Courses are available in both Full-time and Part-time modules.
- Applicants who have qualified UGC-NET/ CSIR-NET/ GATE/ Teacher fellowship holder/ scientists working with DRDO/ faculty of Defence Administrative College are all exempted from the written entrance examination for PhD admission.
- SC/ ST candidates are given a relaxation of 5% to the aggregate score of the qualifying examination.
